Rhododendron ‘Hachmann’s Charmant’

Rhododendron ‘Hachmann’s Charmant’ is a beautiful evergreen shrub valued for its attractive foliage and spectacular spring flowers. It is an excellent choice for mixed borders, woodland-style gardens, containers and specimen planting.

The plant develops a bushy habit with attractive evergreen foliage, providing year-round colour and structure. Its dense growth makes it a lovely backdrop for other acid-loving plants or a striking feature in its own right.

In spring, it produces an impressive display of white flowers edged in purplish-pink, each with a distinctive bold pink-red flare towards the centre. The contrasting colours create a particularly eye-catching display against the dark green foliage.

Plant in partial shade in moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Ericaceous compost should be used when planting, particularly in containers or where the existing soil is not naturally acidic. Avoid alkaline or lime-rich soils, as Rhododendrons require acidic conditions to thrive.

With its attractive evergreen foliage and beautifully marked spring flowers, Rhododendron ‘Hachmann’s Charmant’ is a striking choice for adding colour, structure and seasonal interest to an acid-loving garden.
