About

Farlow Farm Nursery is a family run business, which was established in 1974. We pride ourselves on customer service and delivering the best quality plants and hedging.

Gerald Link, founder, along with his wife Janet and their children Dawn and Mark, started the nursery on a small two-acre site in the village of Farlow. In 1974, they acquired a derelict twenty-five-acre dairy farm, giving birth to Farlow Farm Nursery on September 19th, 1974. Over the decades, the nursery has evolved, expanding its offerings to include field-grown forestry, hedging transplants, and a variety of shrubs.

In 1990, Gerald retired, and his son Mark, along with his wife Tess, took over the reins of the business. Together, they formed a dynamic partnership that propelled the nursery to new heights. With dedication and hard work, they expanded the business, purchased more land, and diversified their product range. Their efforts were bolstered by the addition of their sons, Ben and Dan, who played pivotal roles in the nursery’s growth.

Tragically, in February 2022, the family faced a devastating loss with the passing of Tess, a beloved figure in the business and the family. Despite this setback, the Farlow Farm Nursery family rallied together, determined to honour Tess’s legacy and continue her vision for the nursery. In September 2022, Ben married Sarah and they now live in a new house situated on the nursery. Sarah now plays a pivotal role within the business too. In September 2023 they welcomed their baby daughter Bethany.  So, the fourth generation is already established. Dan has also moved to a new house situated on the nursery with his partner Lucy.
