Nepeta × faassenii ‘Six Hills Giant’, commonly known as Catmint, is a vigorous, spreading herbaceous perennial valued for its aromatic grey-green foliage and masses of lavender-blue flowers. It is an excellent choice for flower borders, cottage gardens, edging, gravel gardens and wildlife-friendly planting.
It forms a generous clump of soft, aromatic grey-green leaves, with upright, branching stems carrying spikes of beautiful lavender-blue flowers throughout summer. Its spreading habit creates a soft, informal appearance and works particularly well alongside roses and other flowering perennials.
Reaching approximately 60–90cm in height, ‘Six Hills Giant’ is particularly effective towards the front or middle of a sunny border, where its long flowering season can be enjoyed.
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Cutting the plant back after its first flush of flowers can encourage fresh growth and further flowering later in the season.
The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, making ‘Six Hills Giant’ an excellent addition to a wildlife-friendly garden.
