Malus ‘Indian Magic’

Malus ‘Indian Magic’, commonly known as a Crab Apple, is an attractive, spreading deciduous ornamental tree valued for its bronze-tinted foliage, pink spring blossom and long-lasting orangey-red fruit. It is an excellent choice for lawns, mixed borders, smaller gardens and wildlife-friendly planting.

The tree develops a broad, spreading habit, with attractive leaves that emerge with a bronze tinge before maturing as the season progresses. In mid to late spring, dark flower buds open to reveal clusters of beautiful pink flowers, creating a colourful display and providing nectar for bees and other pollinating insects.

The flowers are followed by small orangey-red fruits in autumn. These attractive crab apples typically remain on the tree for several months, providing excellent colour and winter interest when the foliage has fallen.

Its spreading form and multi-season interest make ‘Indian Magic’ an excellent feature or specimen tree, particularly when planted where its blossom and persistent fruit can be appreciated.

Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. The combination of bronze-tinged foliage, pink flowers and long-lasting fruit makes Malus ‘Indian Magic’ a versatile and attractive addition to the garden.
