Rhododendron ‘Madame Masson’

Rhododendron ‘Madame Masson’ is a compact, spreading evergreen shrub valued for its glossy foliage and elegant white spring flowers. It is an excellent choice for mixed borders, woodland-style gardens, containers and specimen planting.

The plant develops a neat, spreading habit with attractive glossy evergreen leaves, providing reliable colour and structure throughout the year.

In late spring, it produces large trusses of beautiful, star-shaped white flowers, each marked with a distinctive yellow blotch towards the centre. The contrasting markings create a particularly attractive display against the dark green foliage.

Its compact, spreading form makes ‘Madame Masson’ a versatile choice for smaller gardens and mixed borders, as well as planting alongside other acid-loving shrubs.

Plant in partial shade in moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Ericaceous compost is recommended when planting, particularly in containers or where the existing soil is not naturally acidic. Avoid alkaline or lime-rich soils, as Rhododendrons require acidic conditions to thrive.

With its glossy evergreen foliage and elegant, yellow-marked white flowers, Rhododendron ‘Madame Masson’ is a beautiful choice for adding colour and seasonal interest to an acid-loving garden.
