Euphorbia Polychroma

Euphorbia polychroma, commonly known as Cushion Spurge, is a compact, rounded herbaceous perennial grown for its vivid yellow spring flowers and neat, bushy habit. It is an excellent choice for flower borders, rockeries, gravel gardens, cottage gardens and low-maintenance planting.

It forms a rounded clump of narrow, mid-green leaves, reaching approximately 45cm in height and spread. In spring, the stems are topped with striking clusters of bright yellow flowers, creating a vibrant splash of colour.

Its compact size makes it particularly useful for the front of borders, edging paths or planting amongst lower-growing perennials. It also works well in groups to create a strong block of early-season colour.

Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Once established, Euphorbia polychroma is relatively low maintenance and can tolerate drier conditions, making it a useful choice for gravel gardens and drought-tolerant planting schemes.

The bright yellow flowers provide valuable early-season colour and are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.
