Azalea ‘Amoena’

Azalea ‘Amoena’ is a compact, evergreen flowering shrub valued for its vibrant magenta-pink flowers and neat, bushy habit. It is an excellent choice for woodland-style gardens, borders, Japanese-inspired planting and containers, where its colourful spring display can be enjoyed up close.

In late spring, ‘Amoena’ produces masses of vivid magenta-pink, hose-in-hose flowers, creating a striking display against the dark green evergreen foliage. Its leaves remain on the plant throughout the year, providing structure and colour even outside the flowering season.

Growing to approximately 1–1.5 metres in height and spread, this relatively compact Azalea is well suited to smaller gardens, mixed borders and patio containers. It also works particularly well planted in groups to create a bold block of spring colour.

Plant in acidic, humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Avoid alkaline or chalky soils, as Azaleas require acidic conditions to thrive.

‘Amoena’ is a particularly good choice for adding evergreen structure and vibrant spring colour to woodland, Japanese and informal planting schemes.
