Camellia ‘Rouge’

Camellia ‘Rouge’ is an upright evergreen flowering shrub valued for its glossy foliage and bright, formal double flowers. It is an excellent choice for sheltered borders, woodland gardens, cottage gardens and containers, providing colour and structure throughout the year.

The plant forms an upright, bushy shape with attractive glossy green leaves that remain on the plant throughout the year. From mid to late spring, it produces an abundance of bright formal double flowers, creating a striking display against the dark evergreen foliage.

Growing to approximately 2–3 metres in height and spread, ‘Rouge’ works well as a feature or specimen shrub in mixed borders and sheltered planting areas. It can also be grown in a large container, making it suitable for patios and courtyards.

Plant in partial shade or dappled shade in moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Camellias prefer a sheltered position protected from strong winds and harsh morning sun.

Its combination of evergreen foliage and showy double spring flowers makes Camellia ‘Rouge’ a versatile choice for adding year-round structure and seasonal colour to the garden.
