Taxus Baccata Fastigiata Aurea (Golden Irish Yew)

Taxus baccata ‘Fastigiata Aurea’, commonly known as Golden Irish Yew, is a striking evergreen conifer valued for its narrow, upright form and bright golden-yellow foliage. It is an excellent choice for formal gardens, hedging, specimen planting, containers and smaller spaces.

The tree develops a distinctive upright, columnar habit, making it particularly useful where a strong vertical feature is required without taking up too much ground space. Its narrow foliage is a vibrant golden-yellow, becoming especially bright when grown in a sunny position, while still providing year-round colour and structure.

Its compact, columnar shape makes Golden Irish Yew particularly effective as an architectural specimen, planted individually or in pairs to frame an entrance, pathway or garden feature. It can also be incorporated into formal planting schemes.

Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Good drainage is important, particularly in heavy or waterlogged ground. A sunny position will encourage the best golden foliage colour.

With its striking golden foliage and naturally columnar form, Taxus baccata ‘Fastigiata Aurea’ is a superb choice for adding year-round colour, structure and height to the garden.
