Syringa Vulgaris ‘Madame Lemoine’ (Lilac)

Syringa vulgaris ‘Madame Lemoine’, commonly known as Lilac, is a bushy, medium-sized deciduous shrub prized for its fragrant white flowers and attractive foliage. It is an excellent choice for mixed borders, cottage gardens, lawns and specimen planting.

The plant develops a bushy, upright habit with attractive light green, heart-shaped leaves, providing a fresh backdrop through spring and summer.

In late spring, compact trusses of fragrant, double white flowers appear, opening from distinctive yellowish buds. The abundant blooms create a beautiful display and fill the garden with the classic sweet fragrance associated with Lilac. The flowers are also attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.

Its medium-sized habit makes ‘Madame Lemoine’ a versatile choice for mixed borders and specimen planting, particularly where its fragrant spring flowers can be enjoyed from close by.

Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. With its attractive foliage, fragrant double blooms and classic form, Syringa vulgaris ‘Madame Lemoine’ is a beautiful choice for adding spring colour, fragrance and seasonal interest to the garden.
