Cotoneaster ‘Hybridus Pendulus’

Cotoneaster ‘Hybridus Pendulus’ is a striking evergreen to semi-evergreen ornamental tree with a graceful weeping habit. It is an excellent choice for small gardens, lawns, borders and feature planting, where its arching branches and seasonal berries can be enjoyed.

The tree forms a distinctive weeping crown, with branches cascading downwards to create an elegant, architectural shape. In spring, it produces clusters of small white flowers, which are followed by an abundance of bright red berries in autumn and winter.

Growing to approximately 2–3 metres in height, depending on the graft and training, it is a useful choice where a smaller feature tree is required. Its weeping form makes it particularly effective as a specimen or focal-point tree, especially where it can be viewed from all sides.

The berries provide valuable winter interest and are attractive to birds, while the evergreen or semi-evergreen foliage helps maintain structure throughout the year.

Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. A hardy and adaptable tree, it is well suited to a wide range of UK gardens.
