Sorbus aucuparia ‘Commixta’ (Japanese Rowan)

Sorbus aucuparia ‘Commixta’, commonly known as Japanese Rowan, is an attractive deciduous ornamental tree valued for its colourful autumn foliage, delicate spring flowers and vibrant orange-red berries. It is an excellent choice for lawns, mixed borders, smaller gardens and specimen planting.

The tree produces attractive dark green leaves through spring and summer, which develop rich shades of yellow and purple in autumn, creating a striking seasonal display.

In spring, clusters of creamy-white flowers appear amongst the fresh foliage, providing an attractive display and a valuable source of nectar for bees and other pollinating insects.

The flowers are followed by abundant clusters of orange-red berries, which add vibrant colour later in the year and can provide a useful food source for birds.

With its attractive foliage, spring blossom and colourful berries, Sorbus aucuparia ‘Commixta’ is a beautiful choice for adding colour and seasonal interest across the garden.
