Prunus ‘Accolade’

Prunus ‘Accolade’ is a graceful, spreading deciduous ornamental tree valued for its beautiful spring blossom and attractive autumn colour. It is an excellent choice for lawns, smaller gardens, mixed borders and specimen planting.

The tree develops an elegant branching habit with ovate green leaves that provide a fresh backdrop to the flowers during the growing season. In autumn, the foliage takes on attractive shades of orange and red, extending its seasonal interest.

In spring, clusters of semi-double light pink flowers open from deeper pink buds, creating a spectacular display along the branches. The flowers appear before or alongside the young foliage, making the blossom particularly eye-catching.

Growing to around 4–6 metres in height, ‘Accolade’ makes an excellent feature or specimen tree and is a manageable size for many gardens. Its spreading form also works particularly well when planted on a lawn or where its spring blossom can be viewed from a distance.

Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil. With its combination of abundant pink spring flowers, attractive foliage and vibrant autumn colour, Prunus ‘Accolade’ provides interest across several seasons.
